Our client is a specialist design practice with an integrated approach supporting our clients on projects from conception, through consent and during construction. An exciting opportunity has arisen within their business for a drainage engineer/ senior engineer to join their expanding team

What You'll Do:

The role focuses on providing drainage and highway infrastructure design on all types and sizes of new development, supporting and collaborating with project managers from across the business to meet the needs and expectations of our clients.

Job Requirements:

Design technical solutions for highways and drainage systems in support of S104, S38, and S278 applications.

Conduct a range of technical assessments to support new development proposals.

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, clients, and junior team members.

Review and verify technical deliverables, drawings, and reports prepared by junior staff.

Lead or oversee the development of presentations and deliver content to both internal and external stakeholders.

Manage projects with limited supervision, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.

Monitor task progress and provide regular updates aligned with project timelines.

What We're Looking For:

A degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in UK development-related infrastructure engineering.

Showcase suitable knowledge of relevant design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, local road standards and relevant planning policy.

Be experienced in the preparation of highways and drainage design and in particular S38, S278 and S104 processes.

Knowledge and application of drainage design from first principles and experience in the use of Micro drainage and/or Causeway flow software.

Have experience in writing flood risk assessments or drainage strategies for development projects.

Have basic skills or a good understanding of AutoCAD and Civils 3D.

A full UK driving license, as the role may require you to visit sites only accessible by car.
