Job Title: Workday Migration - Test Lead
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 6 Months contract (potential for extension)
Location: Chicago, IL 60606
Hybrid role - 2 days onsite/week
Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Workday Test Lead to support a major Workday migration project. This onshore, Chicago-based role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in Workday testing-spanning functional testing, data migration, and configuration validation. Strong leadership and client-facing skills are essential, along with the ability to drive quality across multiple workstreams and modules.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage end-to-end Workday testing efforts across various modules, including Core HCM, Payroll, Absence, Recruiting, and Compensation. Define and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts. Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing, ensuring thorough coverage. Drive automation testing efforts using Selenium and API testing tools like RestAssured and ReadyAPI. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business analysts to align testing with overall project goals. Identify and document defects, oversee resolution processes, and manage test-related risks. Provide clear and regular testing status updates to stakeholders and leadership. Mentor and support junior testers, ensuring quality and consistency across the team. Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and internal QA processes.
Requirements:
Extensive hands-on experience in Workday testing, particularly in functional, data migration, and validation testing. Strong working knowledge of key Workday modules. Proven track record in leading testing teams and managing onshore/offshore coordination. Prior Workday experience Data Migration testing experience in Workday environment Functional Automation testing experience in Workday environment API testing experience in Workday environment Good to have coding experience using other automation tools like selenium, etc. Expert with automation frameworks and DevOps pipelines. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced, enterprise environments. Strong client-facing presence and ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in HR systems implementation and migration projects. Background in the airline or transportation industry is a significant plus.
