during the summer can be a rewarding experience. Here are some ways you can get involved:
Support for Patients : Spend time with patients by visiting, reading, or taking walks. Write personalized letters and birthday cards. If you have necessary certification, you can even provide massage therapy.
Respite and Support for Family Members : Assist with shopping or light household maintenance. Allow family caregivers time to take care of necessary errands or have some personal time. Help care for a family pet.
Bereavement Support Programs : Work closely with the hospice’s bereavement staff. Assist with support group facilitation, serve refreshments, or help with mailings to families.
Administrative Work : Use your clerical skills to help with administrative duties in the hospice office.
Special Skills and Interests : Volunteer services such as notary, barber, beautician, or musician.
