Overview
Genesis10 is seeking an Accountant for our financial services client in Lake Mary, FL. This is a six-month contract possible contract-to-hire role requiring 4 days onsite per week and 1 day work from home.
Responsibilities
- Deliver through effective, efficient Sarbanes-Oxley and regulatory-compliant finance processes in accordance with local and consolidated GAAP, providing useable, accurate, and timely financial information from transaction through financial close and external reporting periods (monthly, quarterly, and yearly).
- Support a particular line of business, region, or accounting process as assigned for any Record to Report (R2R) process from transaction through close, consolidation, and financial reporting of business outcomes.
- Provide support for moderately complex end-to-end R2R accounting processes to transform data into information for reporting, including processing financial transactions, identifying and analyzing exceptions, and supporting audits, ad hoc requests, and special projects.
- Prepare and/or post journal entries for moderately complex general ledger accounts; reconcile GL activity to ensure the trial balance reflects expected transactions and proper balances; perform accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, and other requested accounting support operations.
- Participate in moderately complex accounting activities and GL events; update and enhance process documentation; support reconciliations, accruals, and allocations; apply technical accounting guidance from the Team Lead and SMEs to approved global standards; support ERP and other R2R tool implementations as requested.
- Support day-to-day capture of performance metrics at functional, team, and individual levels; participate in rotating assignments across lines of business, legal entities, and geographies to deepen understanding of the client’s various lines and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- 6-9 years of total work experience.
- Mutual fund experience.
- Strong reconciliation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, initiative, and critical and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to quickly gather and analyze data.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to support market hours and perform after-hours work when necessary, including weekends.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting/finance.
Compensation
$40/hr W2 - $43/hr W2
