Overview
Genesis10 is seeking an Accountant for our financial services client in Lake Mary, FL. This is a six-month contract with possible contract-to-hire, requiring 4 days onsite per week and 1 day work from home.
Summary and responsibilities
Accountable to deliver through effective, efficient Sarbanes-Oxley, regulatory compliant finance processes, in accordance with local and consolidated GAAP, using usable, accurate and timely financial information from the point of transaction through to financial close and external reporting period (month, quarter, and annual).
May be called upon to support a particular line of business, region, or accounting process, as assigned, for any Record to Report (R2R) process from the point of transaction through to the close, consolidation, and financial reporting of business outcomes for our client.
Provides support for moderately complex end to end R2R accounting processes required to transform data into information for reporting purposes. This includes: processing of financial transactions; identifying and analyzing exceptions; and providing support for a wide range of R2R activities such as audits, the fulfillment of ad hoc requests, and special project activities.
Prepares and/or posts journal entries for moderately complex general ledger accounts; and reconciles general ledger activity to ensure that the trial balance includes expected transactions and reflects the correct balances. Performs moderately complex accruals, adjustments, reconciliations of accounts or financial data, and any other accounting support operations requested, as assigned.
Participate in moderately complex accounting activities and general ledger events, updating and enhancing the documentation for processes as requested, updating the documentation required to support the assigned reconciliations, accruals, and allocations, taking the technical accounting guidance from the Team Lead and subject matter experts and applying it in accordance with the approved global standard processes, supporting ERP and other Record to Report support tool implementation activities as requested, and any other support required, as assigned.
Supports the day-to-day capture of performance metrics at the functional, team and individual level, and participates in rotating assignments across lines of business, legal entities and geographies to grow their depth of understanding of our client's various lines of business, and the unique attributes of the legal entity, regulatory, and in-country requirements, over time.
- Develop and extend collaborative working relationships with senior clients, technology, and operational support areas, effectively resolving problems/issues and identifying service improvement areas.
- Collaborate across various teams including Trades, Reconciliation, Valuation, Client Onboarding, and Technology Support to deliver superior service.
- Standardize new client reporting for intake within the accounting platform utilizing approved technology.
- Make necessary static data mapping for further validation of reports.
- Review and work with client and third parties to improve quality of client instructions.
- Determining the net asset value (NAV) for assigned funds for each measurement cycle.
- Foot ledger to the subsidiary ledger of all funds before converting onto our client's accounting platform.
Requirements
- 6-9 years of total work experience.
- Mutual Fund experience.
- Strong reconciliation skills.
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivator with a strong work ethic, initiative, critical and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization skills and must be able to quickly gather and analyze data.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic working environment.
- Flexibility to support market hours and do some after-hours work when necessary, including working on weekends.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting/finance.
Compensation
$40/hr W2 - $43/hr W2
