Job Description:
The Security Guard Supervisor will be assisting the department manager in overseeing and coordinating security operations to ensure the safety of company assets, employees, guests, and others on company premises. Investigate security violations, maintain detailed logs and records. Actively monitors the environment to uphold ethical conduct and a secure atmosphere, serving as a point of contact with law enforcement if necessary. Additional responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing the department's security systems, including card access control, fire, camera, and freezer monitoring. This position will assist with new staff training, ensuring the safety of employees, equipment, and facilities against various risks, including fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other potential hazards. Additionally, performs regular patrols around the campus, reporting any irregularities, damages, thefts, or unusual incidents.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provides direct supervision of the campus security staff, oversees training, scheduling, and reports any deficiencies to the Security manager.
- Assists with the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of all department systems such as card access, cameras, and freezer monitoring.
- Patrols assigned premises: Monitors area traffic; investigates suspicious activities; listens for and reports local alarms; may report to county/municipal authorities when necessary.
- Registers and directs visitors, checks for appropriate identification, and contacts their host for escort.
- Monitors the card access system to detect proper card use, and reports door mechanical problems and other system problems.
- Assists and coordinates with event organizers concerning campus-approved special events.
- Monitors employee parking lots for suspicious activity and enforcement of parking regulations. Provides escort service to staff and students as requested to ensure safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
A high school diploma and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Valid FL driver's license.
Preferred:
- 5 years of related Security Officer experience or equivalent. Must be available for flexible shift scheduling.
- Must have a professional demeanor as well as good interpersonal and communication skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based programs preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
- Experience working with Law Enforcement agencies is preferred.
