AECOM is seeking a talented

Roadway/Transportation Drainage Design Engineer

to join a dynamic and highly technical transportation team of planners, engineers, and technicians in the

Chicago, IL

office.

As a drainage engineer, you will lead the drainage design on our transportation projects for a variety of clients in public and private industries. You will also have the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge design projects that utilize the latest technologies for delivering design services to clients.

Responsibilities:

Roadway drainage design

Bridge/culvert hydraulic analyses

Scour analysis

Erosion and sedimentation control

Other related design tasks

Plan production and development of bid sets

Coordinating with other disciplines

Obtaining permits required from regulatory agencies.

Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub-consultants in the various assignments.

Qualifications: Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

6+ years of previous drainage design experience and geometric design on transportation projects including Schematic Development and/or Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)

IL Professional Engineering (PE) License

Good communication skills and ability to work as a team

Experience preparing IDOT Hydraulic Reports and Phase 1 drainage studies, such as Location Drainage Studies

Experience obtaining permits drainage design related permits, such as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Section 404 and IDNR-OWR Floodway Construction permits

Experience on multidisciplinary project with subconsultants

Experience with GeoPak Drainage, SWMM, HY-8, and HEC Programs

Experience with SUDA preferred

Experience with design software including MicroStation and GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads

Familiarity with MS Office 2010 software (Excel, Word, Project) is required

Compensation: $115,000-$115,000 per year
