Responsibilities of the
Air Compressor Maintenance Mechanic
include, but are not limited to: • Diagnose, repair, and maintain air compressors, air treatment equipment, and related products • Assess condition of various filters, oil, and other maintenance consumables • Perform all preventative maintenance tasks to the standard set by the manufacturer • Navigate various control systems to document service and failure codes • Complete documents detailing the work performed and parts replaced • Make recommendations for future service work • Communicate effectively with customers and DXP inside sales to drive successful service outcomes • Assist repair mechanics with diagnosis and repair of various compressor parts • Keep supplies and tools up to date • Attend safety and manufacturing training as necessary • Follow customer specific safe work practices
Qualifications of the
Air Compressor Maintenance Mechanic
include, but are not limited to: • Previous direct experience with air compressors or refrigeration is preferred • 3+ years of mechanical, instrumentation, or controls service experience required • Must be able to work on a ladder, operate a man-lift and forklift • Thorough understanding of hand and power tools • Ability to read instruction manuals • Able to use computers and tablets • Must have acceptable driving record according to company guidelines • Able to pass background check and drug screening • Able to work overtime as required

Physical Demand:
Able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, drive for several hours
Working conditions:
Various customer locations including petrochemical, oil and gas, repair, and general industry; Many locations are subject to outside weather conditions.
Training/Certifications:
Training/certification will be provided
Shift time/Overtime:
Hourly; OT as needed; on-call rotation
Travel:
Primarily regional to the Ark-La-Tex
Education:
High school diploma required; technical college degree preferred
