Job Description Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification
Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - Decisive judgment - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to work in a stressful environment
Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Works in a cardiac telemetry unit, caring for all cardiac needs including post-operative care. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. Supported by Patient Care Technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilizes virtual sitter monitoring and monitor technicians for telemetry patients. This is a Level I trauma center serving a population of all ages. Nurses work together in teams and are supported by Patient Care Technicians and a unit secretary.
