Senior Consultant for Energy and Transmission Markets

who is a seasoned electricity market analyst with the expertise to expand our consulting practice. This role focuses on conducting due diligence related to transmission congestion impacts under Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED). The ideal candidate will engage in or lead projects that involve various aspects of transmission congestion analysis, LMP basis risk, energy curtailment risk, LMP price forecasting, economic benefit studies, and energy asset due diligence. You will support asset development, risk assessments, and economic evaluation. Location:

While remote work is an option, candidates who are within commuting distance to Denver, CO, or Framingham, MA, are preferred. Primary Responsibilities: Conduct advanced electricity market modeling and transmission congestion analysis using the PROMOD market simulation model with SCED. Analyze study outcomes to create deliverables that offer valuable and actionable insights for clients. Manage client engagements and nurture ongoing client relationships. Present findings and study results to client executives effectively. Investigate key energy market operational processes and stay updated on current trends and issues. Participate in business development activities through collaboration with colleagues and direct engagement with clients and prospects. Cultivate and strengthen key client relationships. Support project work efficiently and effectively, both independently and in collaboration with team members. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of twelve (12+) years of relevant experience. Experience in energy markets utilizing modeling software such as PROMOD IV, Encompass, UPLAN, or Plexos. Proven background in the electricity industry, specifically in conducting economic studies of both conventional and renewable generation. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients and team members. Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with a talent for conveying project results effectively both verbally and in writing. Deep understanding of power markets, along with knowledge of transmission system operations and nodal (LMP) price formation. Are you ready to make an impact?
