Organization

By The Hand is a not-for-profit, religious organization. Employees may perform ministerial tasks including sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students, and modeling Christ’s standards.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $50,000 per year

Overview of Position

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support for all aspects of the HR department; including maintaining employee records, assisting with recruiting and onboarding, coordinating training and HR events, and ensuring compliance with labor law posters.

Spiritual Requirements

  • Has a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ and is in regular fellowship with a Bible-believing church.
  • Agrees with the Doctrinal Statement and adheres to Employee Biblical Standards of Living.
  • Models Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
  • Leads a team devotional regularly and participates in weekly team prayer.
  • Has completed an evangelism course and is prepared to share the gospel with inquiries.
  • Works with EOS Leadership Team to monitor policies to further By The Hand’s religious purpose and freedom.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform in a way consistent with the vision and mission of By The Hand and pursue excellence in all operations.
  • Model the organization’s cultural values in day-to-day behavior.
  • Follow all policies, maintain brand standards, and ensure 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
  • Participate in employee growth plans, including quarterly conversations and annual reviews.
  • Collaborate with HR to complete HR processes, tasks, reports, and documents.
  • Assist with recruitment tasks: sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, preparing offer letters, and managing applicant tracking data.
  • Support screening and selection by resume reviews, phone interviews, reference checks, and background checks.
  • Screen and evaluate candidates’ faith journeys, ensuring alignment with our faith statement and living standards.
  • Attend key recruitment events as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding by entering new staff into databases for a smooth recruitment-to-onboarding handoff.
  • Support internship program logistics, collect feedback, and summarize survey results.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding and employment verifications under child protection laws.
  • Support payroll duties such as time card verification and PTO approvals.
  • Contribute to quarterly HR newsletters and organizational updates.
  • Assist talent advancement by coordinating surveys and providing on-site support at trainings.
  • Update HR data systems (HRIS, LMS, performance, applicant tracking, and personnel files).
  • Assist onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support the HR department with administrative tasks and projects as assigned, including managing the HR email inbox and phone.
  • Work with the VP of HR to uphold policies supporting the BTH religious purpose and freedom.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • B.A. or B.S. in a related field and equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of administrative experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and own auto insurance to travel around the city.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Standard office equipment is used (computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines).

Physical Demands

Regularly must speak and listen. May require moving equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds. Travel across the city and to other organization sites may be required.
