MATERIAL HANDLER (TUESDAY - SATURDAY)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support production/engineering with the movement of parts to support the master schedule
Safely load, secure, and transport equipment such as packages, hardware, and inventory items in support of flight or ground support equipment (GSE) operations
Physically move and expedite materials when required in support of production/engineering and meet work order completion dates
Verify all materials are packaged and banded for transport, and assist with loading and unloading of trucks
Support operations for flight vehicles
Verify all material transported for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity, and revisions
Interface with receiving, quality control, purchasing, and other related departments to resolve problems relative to the receipt and distribution of material
Operate material handling equipment, including but not limited to: forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks/trailers, and hand carts
Use an electronic material requirements planning (MRP) system to route parts and components to the proper departments
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
1+ years of expediting/material handling experience
Experience operating a forklift and/or material handling motorized vehicles and equipment such as trucks or trailers
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working within a manufacturing/production environment
Experience with barcode scanning to document material movement
Experience working with aircraft or automotive parts and assemblies
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Rigging experience is highly desired
Fragile item packaging experience
Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Typical hours for this position, excluding overtime, are Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
Valid diver’s license
Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
Must be available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
