Position Overview
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions
is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also using these standards and tools to contribute to project success. As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will be a part of a growing team that supports all aspects of the construction process by performing innovative design engineering through brainstorming conceptual designs, performing and/or reviewing electrical calculations, developing plans, scheduling tasks to meet client needs, as well as mitigating risk to keep our construction crews safe.

Location
This role is in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
Review wiring diagrams, schematics, data sheets, and related drawings
Analyze requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposals
Prepare basic calculations and drawings per Kiewit standards
Draft equipment specifications for major electrical components
Evaluate bids
Coordinate equipment contracts with vendors
Maintain engineering records and lists
Manage cable and raceway data using scheduling software
Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, construction teams, and vendors
Learn design standards, engineering codes, and policies
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, in good standing
Preferred GPA above 3.0
Interest in power systems engineering
Strong organizational and communication skills
Collaborative approach
Junior or senior status preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; willingness to learn department design software
Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access
Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties
Other Requirements:
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
