A Day in the Life of a Water/Wastewater Engineer (EIT) at Hanson

Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:

Collaborate with licensed engineers to design water and wastewater infrastructure systems

Design wastewater collection systems, sanitary lift stations, and treatment units (municipal/industrial)

Design water distribution systems, booster pump stations, elevated storage tanks, and treatment units

Produce plans, specifications, and technical reports

Conduct hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and modeling

Manage permitting processes and support construction administration

Apply the latest technologies and stay current with industry innovations

Mentor junior staff and manage project tasks

Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:

Skills

Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, XPSWMM, and ArcGIS (preferred)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Familiarity with TCEQ regulations (required)

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in civil or related engineering field

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (3–4 years preferred)

Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) certification required

Additional Information

Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed

Valid driver’s license required

Salary Range: $80,000 – $92,000 per year
