DDC - Waddell, AZ (White Tanks at San Lucy) . Position Summary: Under direct supervision of the Desert Diamond Casino- Phoenix Room Chef & Desert Diamond Casino- Phoenix Venue Manager. This position entails prepping food items, learning cooking/baking techniques and theories, placing stock in proper storage areas, cleaning and maintaining work areas and kitchens, and supporting overall production for all Food & Beverage venues. The listed duties are illustrative and not all-inclusive. Responsibilities

Learns to prepare a variety of foods, quantities, qualities, and styles according to the menu and business demand. Performs tasks set forth by superiors and engages in repetitive tasks as required. Develops and applies proper knife skills, cooking/baking techniques, methods, and terminology. Understands and follows standardized recipes for all foods across venues and outlets. Completes assigned tasks and communicates clearly with Cooks, Lead Cooks, Room Chefs, and Venue Managers. Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitized work area in compliance with tribal, city, state, and federal health/food safety regulations. Ensures all areas of the assigned venue/outlet/kitchen are cared for and duties are completed; maintains food storage areas (refrigeration, freezer, dry storage) with proper labeling and dating. Keeps equipment, tools, floors, workstations, and prep areas clean and organized and free from clutter and non-approved items. Communicates well with team members to sustain a positive and professional work environment; contributes to team efforts to accomplish tasks. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High School Degree or GED preferred; six months in a working kitchen or six months as a Kitchen Steward or equivalent; must be at least 18 years of age; no felony, theft, or stealing convictions. Pre-employment requirements: successful drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, and ability to obtain and maintain gaming license. Skills and Abilities: ability to learn safely use kitchen equipment, follow safety practices, communicate/read/write in basic English, demonstrate outstanding guest service, work in a fast-paced environment, present a professional appearance, be organized, coordinate tasks among team members, safely use cleaning equipment and supplies, knowledge of basic foods and their uses, knowledge of food safety regulations, knowledge of metric/standard measurements, learn culinary methods and techniques, and clearly communicate to all levels of management. Physical Demands

Standing for extended periods; frequent communication; constant use of hands for cutting, grabbing, lifting, washing, touching, and holding items; walking at a safe pace; may sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment

Kitchen setting with heat, fumes, steam, second-hand smoke, and high noise levels. Day, evening, graveyard, holiday, and weekend shifts required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be needed. Work in all venues unless specified by Food & Beverage Management. Employment details
