Senior Electrical Power Engineer

As Senior Electrical Power Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and optimization of Fervo's innovative geothermal power plants. You will be responsible for advancing the electrical systems that enable reliable, cost-effective, and scalable clean energy production from high-voltage transmission and distribution to plant-level integration. As Fervo moves from engineering first-of-a-kind projects to widespread scaling, you will help establish technical excellence in electrical design and set the standard for repeatable, efficient project delivery. To be successful in this role, you must possess deep technical expertise in electrical power engineering and bring a collaborative approach to working with subsurface, facilities, and project execution teams. You will report to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor. Responsibilities

Lead design, specification, and analysis of electrical power systems for generation, transmission, distribution, and substations Perform system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, transient analysis) to ensure safety and reliability Develop equipment specifications, review vendor packages, and support procurement and commissioning Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and interconnection requirements Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with facilities, subsurface, contractors, and vendors to deliver integrated project solutions Mentor junior engineers and contribute to development of company-wide electrical standards Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify, accelerate, and enhance design quality Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems Expertise in power delivery systems, including transmission, distribution, and substations Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable decisions Fervo Energy has offices in Houston, TX, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at any of the above locations will be required. Fervo Energy is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. Expected Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 based on location and experience.
