This role is for a Safety Manager who administers project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. The position may oversee one project or multiple smaller projects and reports to a Senior Safety Manager or Regional Safety Director. The role involves significant autonomy and technical input in safety decisions for project teams. What youll do
Lead daily audits of all work areas; provide safety expertise in response to deficiencies and requests for safety assistance; communicate with the project team and field leadership. Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, respond to site safety questions, and act as the company spokesperson for site safety issues. Resolve site safety issues and provide emergency response as needed involving subcontractors, customers, employees, and company managers. Identify gaps and implement safety program elements to comply with customer and regulatory requirements. Direct comprehensive investigations of all injury and loss incidents, identify causal factors, implement preventive measures, and follow up for long-term resolution. Conduct safety training, testing, and record-keeping for employees, subcontractors, and others on site (as applicable). Advise the company management team and customer agencies to ensure safety requirements are identified, communicated, and fulfilled. Manage the assigned projects safety program budget, equipment, supplies, and training aids. Develop and review the site safety plan for the project; contribute to project start-up meetings and review project look-ahead plans. Ensure a crisis management plan is implemented; ensure clinics/medical facilities are set up and known to the project team. Oversee procedures for LOTO and first energization; review Step by Step and MOPS (Methods of Procedures). Develop and participate in root cause analyses to prevent recurring events; prepare training documents, pre-task plans, permits, certifications, sign-in sheets, and toolbox talks as needed. Coordinate injury case management with insurance representatives and vendors as assigned by senior safety leadership. Recognize safety responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role. What youll need to be successful
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures; thorough understanding of federal, state, and local regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety audit software; ability to use electronic devices for communications and documentation. Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time pressure; self-motivated and a proactive team player. Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others. What you bring to us
Preferred bachelors degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field. Professional Safety Certification (e.g., GSP, CHST) preferred. 6 years of applicable safety construction experience preferred; combination of training, education, and work experience considered. Travel

General work environment; both indoor office settings and outdoor construction sites; conditions vary. Noise level varies by location; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
