Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/20/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Location: Methodist University Hospital, 1265 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38104 Unit: 9 NORTH, 16032 Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 AM - 07:00 PM) Start Date: October 20, 2025 Duration: 13 weeks Job Overview: We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Medical Surgical unit at Methodist University Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center and short-term acute care facility. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years recent medical-surgical nursing experience, preferably with trauma center exposure. This role offers 48-hour or 36-hour work weeks with team nursing implemented. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Manage patient assignments with a ratio of 1:6 or 1:7, providing quality care and patient education. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR or other charting systems. Participate in emergency response and trauma care as required by Level I trauma protocols. Support team nursing initiatives and assist with unit-level quality improvement efforts. Work on-call and weekend shifts as required per contract. Qualifications: Active RN license in the state of Tennessee or a compact nursing license. Minimum of 2 years medical-surgical nursing experience; 3 years preferred. Previous Level I Trauma Center experience is required. At least one prior completed travel nursing assignment is preferred. Current BLS certification required; other certifications a plus. Cerner EMR experience preferred. Must be willing to work assigned holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) as per facility policy. Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and float between like units within a 20-mile radius. Additional Requirements: Submit a valid driver's license copy at time of application. Provide all requested Return to Office (RTO) dates with submission; late RTO requests will not be approved. Travelers previously employed by the facility must confirm eligibility for rehire before submission. No direct calls from recruiters or credentialing specialists to the facility.
