Compliance Specialist 2, Intake and Triage Unit

with the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division. This is a homebased position that will document and conduct on-site surveys and require regional travel. Regional travel may require up to 90% overnight travel. Occasional weekend and after-hours work may also be required. The Compliance Specialist 2 in the Intake and Triage Unit of the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division (HFRD) is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and evaluating incoming complaints and incident reports related to licensed healthcare facilities. This role involves determining jurisdiction, assessing the severity and priority of each case, and routing valid reports to the appropriate investigative units. The specialist ensures that all documentation complies with regulatory standards and contributes to the protection of public health and safety by facilitating timely and accurate complaint processing.

Job Responsibilities

Conducts reviews and audits of Facility Self-Reported Incidents for compliance with regulated entity operations and program management. Coordinates investigations involving noncompliance in facilities, community programs, regulated entity operations and other related programs. Coordinates reporting of substantiated allegations of abuse, neglect and misappropriation of licensed perpetrators with program management. Acts as a liaison between facilities and HFRD to obtain additionally needed information. Makes referrals of regulatory noncompliance to other entities as necessary. Coordinates the data management and quality assurance functions. Determines compliance with applicable state and/or federal rules and regulations. Monitors, tracks, and maintain records on compliance. Plans and evaluates outcome studies and/or compliance findings. Recommends programmatic and/or operational changes based on review, audit or survey results. Researches and analyzes state codes, federal regulations and industry manuals regarding forms, policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of job-related experience; or four (4) years of related professional experience; or Two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Compliance Specialist 1 (RCP060) or position equivalent. Some positions may require a valid driver's license. Possession of a valid Georgia driver's license, which would enable the applicant to drive in Georgia, and use of a car at work, are required for employees in this job. Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates, who have a healthcare background and in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, possess the following:

Certification(s) and/or Degree in one or more related fields Experience working in the field of Personal Care Home. Experience as a Registered Nurse/LPN, or licensed professional in a healthcare setting. Experience in utilization review and/or quality assurance in a healthcare setting. Experience in conducting assessments and evaluations based on regulations, legal requirements and/or recognized accreditation standards. Experience in coordinating and working with stage agencies regarding the relocation of displaced residents/participants associated with unlicensed facilities. Experience with reviewing and completing inspection reports for judicial appointments and/or hearings as assigned. Experience working with management team to impose adverse action against healthcare facilities or individuals who have violated rules and regulations. Skills used to interpret medical, and health related issues associated with care plans, medical reports, prescribed medication, and health maintenance. Experience in performing investigations and audits related to allegations that consist of gathering the appropriate information, working with other state agencies, conducting interviews, and documenting findings within the timeframe outlined by the department. Demonstrated ability to produce high quality documentation with attention to detail. Strong investigative reporting and report writing skills. Strong organizational and time management skills.
