Job Description
We are seeking a
Database Architect
to design and develop efficient, scalable, and secure database systems. This is a
full-time
hybrid
position located onsite. The role requires hands-on experience in building new relational data models and ensuring rigorous testing and high availability of databases.
What You'll Do
Design and develop database systems with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and security
Determine appropriate database architecture, data storage, and indexing techniques
Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to meet performance and scalability requirements
Analyze organizational data needs and identify the most suitable database systems
Design and implement database structures ensuring data security and integrity
Manage back-end data integration and architecture including dimensional data modeling and ETL development
Lead DB migration projects, specifically Oracle to SQL Server
Design and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Develop and maintain DB deployment strategies across various environments
Focus on designing and maintaining data warehouses and large-scale data repositories
Implement solutions for managing data in the cloud, especially on AWS RDS
Ensure data security by implementing protocols such as encryption and access controls
Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes etc.
What You'll Need
5+ years of experience in designing and developing database systems
Extensive experience with Oracle to SQL Server migration
Proficiency in DB deployment strategies and maintenance
Experience in back-end data integration and architecture
Knowledge of AWS RDS for hosting and managing databases
Experience with Windows server and Active Directory
Ability to implement security protocols and ensure data accuracy
Experience in working on AWS RDS
Knowledge of data security protocols such as encryption and access controls
Familiarity with automating regular processes
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
The pay range for this position is $52 - $57 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave as provided by applicable law.
