Role Overview:
The Information Security Officer of the Hoosier Lottery serves as the process owner for all ongoing activities that serve to provide appropriate access to and protect the confidentiality of customer, associate and business information in compliance with organization policies and standards. Requires a bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science and information technology. CISSP preferred.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $43,888.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
Establish and maintain the Information Security Management System (ISMS) policy, objectives and plans ensuring compliance with the ISO 27001 and WLA-SCS controls;
Ensures the ISMS preserves the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information by applying a risk management process and oversees the risk treatment plans;
Oversees the monitoring and measuring of the ISMS and how the Hoosier Lottery will interpret the results to prompt any required actions for improvement and provides regular reporting on the implementation and compliance of Information Security objectives;
Oversees access management to control physical and logical access to information and other associated assets;
Responsible to regularly monitor, review, evaluate and manage supplier information security;
Ensures that all third-party companies with a relationship to the Hoosier Lottery are adhering to Lottery Information Security policies – including review of applicable Service Organization Control (SOC) reports;
Oversees management of the design, development, implementation, and operation of the Information Security program for the collection, use, storage and destruction of Lottery’s information assets (including Information Security awareness training);
Oversees the management review of the Hoosier Lottery’s ISMS with leadership at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness;
Responsible to plan and prepare for managing information security incidents by defining, establishing and communicating information security incident management processes and conducting annual training for Lottery employees;
Oversees maintenance and testing of the Lottery’s Business Continuity Plan;
Oversees the planning, implementation, reporting and remediation for the required security audits including penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
Assists Security and IT departments (and others as requested) with analyzing data reports to identify patterns suggesting fraud, suspicious or unauthorized play, or games played in a manner inconsistent with the original security concept
Assist with Lottery projects to evaluate the security of proposed solutions;
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computer science and information technology from a four year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
CISSP (or similar designation) preferred;
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders;
Ability to work with minimal supervision while exercising independent judgment and confidentiality;
Ability to develop, coordinate and organize work plans and/or projects;
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of business functions and processes.
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
