Veteran Employment Advocate

is a vital member of the Employment Services team within our Coalition. This role focuses on assisting veterans in securing and maintaining employment while offering a variety of employment and supportive services within our system and the community. Responsibilities also include thorough program documentation, data collection, and special projects as assigned. The position involves community outreach for job development. The benefits become effective on the first of the month after your hiring date. Essential Responsibilities Collaborate within a team to provide holistic services for each participant. Assess participants' employment interests and skills. Offer supportive services as needed. Work individually with participants to help create Individual Employment Plans (IEP) and achieve their defined goals. Organize and lead employment-related workshops and training sessions. Assist with resume building and job search strategies. Provide continuous guidance and employment-related support to participants. Negotiate workplace accommodations for participants when necessary. Manage crisis situations effectively. Ensure timely completion of all documentation and data entry requirements. Stay informed about community resources and providers. Network with local businesses to foster relationships that support job development. Engage with participants, referral sources, and business partners within the community. Disseminate employment information, including current job openings. Attend relevant staff, organizational, and community meetings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Experience assisting individuals dealing with homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance abuse is preferred. Background in providing employment services, particularly to disabled and homeless individuals, is advantageous. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply for this position. Compensation The hourly rate for this position ranges from $21.90 to $25.76, based on relevant experience.
