Triage Counselor

As a triage counselor, you will conduct professional assessments, provide crisis counseling, and deliver outreach services to SCAD students in collaboration with university administrators and relevant parties. You will support after-hours crisis responses, perform assessments, and coordinate on-call services. Your responsibilities include the supervision and training graduate students, the evaluation and identification students at risk, and follow-up consultations. Additionally, you will carry out prevention and intervention outreach and consultation, and serve as a "first responder" for students in crisis to determine appropriate referrals, levels of care, and primary treatment options. You will also oversee the Guardian student concern alerts system, respond within 24 hours, and develop annual goals to enhance the office's clinical services.

They can collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while remaining adaptable. The candidate efficiently uses electronic records and scheduling systems, showing a solid commitment to multicultural competencies. They also stay flexible and adaptable during periods of high demand, utilizing excellent team skills to make informed treatment decisions for students.
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work Experience providing crisis intervention, triage, and care coordination to diverse populations, including young adults Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in a college or university counseling center Experience working with serious mental illness Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a large mental health services agency Previous work with electronic records and scheduling, preferably Titanium Experience in risk assessment Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
Relevant professional degree and licensure in psychology, social work, or mental health (or able to obtain a license within at least two years) Independent license eligible in Ga. Travel required:
Less than 10%
Work hours:
The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
