Buyer
to manage raw materials inventory, drive process improvements, and collaborate across departments to meet plant goals in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain optimal raw material inventory levels using MRP and lean inventory tools Create, manage, and track purchase orders; communicate status updates with suppliers Investigate and resolve delivery failures through root cause analysis Coordinate inventory transfers between facilities and respond to customer expedite requests Lead medium-scale projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Analyze inventory data to recommend and implement corrective actions Support new product launches and manage ramp-up/ramp-down plans for product changes Foster a safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 5+ years in purchasing or related fields such as supply chain, production leadership, or inventory management Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and implement solutions Solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing information systems Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work cross-functionally with teams in Operations, Finance, Engineering, Logistics, and more Project management experience preferred Familiarity with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, etc.) is a plus Experience with lean methodologies such as 5S, 5 Whys, A3 thinking, Kanban, and Kaizen preferred
