Endoscopy Specialist As part of our dedicated medical team, the Endoscopy Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the operation of advanced endoscopic equipment during procedures. Collaborating closely with physicians, RNs, and GI technicians, you will contribute to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. Your responsibilities will include the thorough decontamination and quality assurance of endoscopy equipment, ensuring smooth patient flow, room turnover, and maintaining well-stocked procedure rooms. Cleaning and reprocessing of endoscopy equipment and room turnaround Setting up and preparing endoscopy rooms for procedures Maintaining a clean and safe environment to minimize the risk of infection Cleaning and reprocessing flexible endoscopes and ancillary tools according to SGNA and departmental standards Organizing tasks efficiently to assist endoscopy staff in room turnover Monitoring and maintaining quality assurance data related to endoscopy and decontamination equipment 35%
Assisting physicians during procedures Helping physicians with patient positioning and procedural requirements under RN supervision Assisting in specimen collection and processing according to departmental protocols 10%

Ordering of Supplies/Equipment Ordering necessary supplies for the endoscopy lab Anticipating special supply needs or equipment issues Monitoring and ensuring the proper functioning of reprocessing equipment Performing additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire) Preferred Qualifications Completion of a surgical technician or medical assisting program or relevant recent experience 2+ years of hands-on experience in endoscopy, decontamination, or sterilization Pay, Benefits, and Other Information The pay for this role ranges from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour, depending on local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
