Join Us in Making an Impact! Leidos is seeking a talented Lead Quality Engineer to spearhead Quality Engineering efforts on an important AS9100 program. In this pivotal role, you will manage a dynamic team of Quality Engineers, drive quality assurance initiatives, ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and customer specifications, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to guarantee product integrity throughout its lifecycle. Your Next Challenge Awaits! As part of our Defense Systems Aerospace sector, you will oversee all quality aspects of a new program. Your responsibilities will encompass assembly operations, testing, managing non-conformances, conducting root cause investigations, and coordinating internal and third-party audits. Additionally, you will manage non-conformances, quality flow-downs to suppliers, and inspection instructions, while ensuring timely closure of all internal audit findings. Travel to other sites may be required on occasion, and you will be responsible for submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality reports. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management:

Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers supporting the AS9100 program. Assign responsibilities, set priorities, and provide guidance on quality-related tasks. Develop and support training programs to enhance team capabilities. Quality Engineering & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements across the program. Lead risk management, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives. Drive First Article Inspections (FAIs), PPAP, and process validations. Program Support & Customer Interface:

Act as the primary quality representative, ensuring alignment with customer expectations. Lead customer audits and collaborate with Program Management and Engineering to resolve quality-related challenges. Continuous Improvement:

Use metrics and data analysis to identify trends and implement improvements. Champion a culture of quality and accountability within the organization. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of experience in an AS9100 regulated aerospace/defense environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience leading or managing Quality Engineers. Strong knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, and aerospace industry standards. Experience with FAI (AS9102), PPAP, RCCA (8D, 5-Why), and quality tools. Proficient in GD&T, statistical analysis, and risk management tools (FMEA, PFMEA, DFMEA). Experience working with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. US Citizenship and a valid Final Secret Clearance are required. Preferred Qualifications: Background in optics is preferred but not mandatory. Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or AS9100 Lead Auditor. Experience with DoD, NASA, or hypersonic programs. Familiarity with APQP, MSA, and digital transformation initiatives in quality. A minimum of 3 years of quality experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive quality control. $89,700.00 - $162,150.00 The pay range for this position is a guideline only and may vary based on various factors.
