Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. Monitors and evaluates patient functional status. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering patient age, culture, and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process and utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and progress toward care goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and patient education resources. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends in-services and meets unit education standards. Completing variance reports is required. Exercise independent judgment in making decisions from a variety of alternatives. Coordinates activities of others but does not supervise. Leads others in the same work performed without supervisory responsibilities. Collaborates directly with patients, internal customers, and other healthcare professionals. Engages frequently with individuals at the Director level or above.
