About Our Client
Founded in 1989 our client is a nationally recognized general contractor with nine offices across the U.S. Their Florida office is located in Sunrise, FL and they are actively growing and looking for a Senior Estimator to join their team and help lead their current Jr Estimators. They are currently working on a mix of coomercial, retail, and mulifamily ground up projects.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates for a wide range of commercial construction projects. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy, scope, and completeness. Lead the bid process, including managing bid schedules, bid day activities, and coordination with stakeholders. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction. Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors. Potentially manage and mentor 1-2 Junior Estimators, ensuring their growth and development within the team. Participate in value engineering and design-assist efforts during preconstruction phases. Contribute to the refinement of internal estimating tools, databases, and best practices. The Successful Applicant
Qualifications:
7+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably with a commercial general contractor. Proven experience estimating projects such as warehouses, retail, storage facilities, banks, and multifamily. Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, costs, and industry trends. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, etc.). Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
