As the Commercial HVAC and Mechanical Estimator, you will calculate project costs by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and site conditions to prepare bids for commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and mechanical systems. Key responsibilities include reviewing project scopes, performing takeoffs, contacting vendors for quotes, and collaborating with project teams to ensure bids are competitive, accurate, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities Project Analysis:

Review project plans, blueprints, specifications, and proposals to understand the scope of work. Cost Estimation:

Accurately calculate costs for labor, materials, and equipment necessary for commercial HVAC and mechanical projects. Site Assessments:

Conduct site visits to gather data and assess existing conditions for accurate estimations. Vendor and Subcontractor Relations:

Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and negotiate prices to ensure competitiveness. Bid Preparation:

Prepare comprehensive, detailed cost estimates and submit them to clients in a timely manner. Project Coordination:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects stay within budget and adhere to plans. Compliance:

Ensure bids and project plans comply with building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of estimates and project documentation for future reference. Sustainability:

Evaluate energy efficiency options to provide sustainable solutions where applicable. Qualifications Technical Knowledge:

A strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and their installation processes. Industry Experience:

Proven experience in the commercial HVAC or mechanical industry is required. Estimating Skills:

Proficiency in using estimating software and techniques for accurate cost analysis. Soft Skills:

Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills are essential for collaborating with teams and clients.
