The following responsibilities are shared amongst the team to provide a comprehensive counseling program
:
Guides students in self-appraisal, decision making, development of personal competencies, and the application of skills needed to manage personal advancement. Encourages self-reliance, problem-solving, critical-thinking, creativity, and performance skills. Works with students and parents in developing a four-year academic plan. Work with building administration with creating and maintaining the building master schedule (using Powerschool Master Scheduler software). Coordinates admission visits. (e.g., college, university, technical, proprietary schools; military services, etc.). Maintains scholarships/financial aid application procedure information. Ministration in developing the master schedule. Works collaboratively with the Counseling Team and teachers with facilitating student maintenance of Educational Development Plans according to the established District plan. Supports administration and teachers with facilitation of student IEP's, Section 504 accommodation plans and development of personal curriculums. Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
Work closely with the building MTSS Team with the implementation of Tier I supports and student interventions. Current District focus has been placed on becoming a trauma-informed care institution. Provide individual and small group counseling (e.g., personal development and restorative processes). Assessment:
Actively support the Counseling Team and administration with sponsoring state-mandated testing during fall and spring cycles. Work with staff, parents, and students toward analyzing and interpreting building and individual student test results toward the development of actionable improvement plans.
