Nurse Aide Training Class (CNA) - Central Nebraska Veterans' Home - Kearney (Evergreen) (Open)

The Central Nebraska Veterans' Home is gearing up for our next CNA training class beginning on December 1st! If you are passionate about caring for others and you're looking to further your career, you have come to the right place! Positions we are hiring for the class are Full-Time positions on our evening shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) and on our NOC shift (10:00pm-6:30am). Incumbents for this position will be understaffed as Staff Care Technician I while in training. Once the certification process is successfully completed, they will be transitioned to Staff Care Technician II. Pay Rate for Staff Care Tech I: $17.54/hour plus $3 differential= $20.54/hr. Pay Rate for Staff Care Tech II: $21.14/hour plus $3 differential-=$24.14/hr. This is a 2-week, all-day course (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) that runs December 1-5 and December 8-12. On site testing for certification will follow successful completion of the course. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: CNA training class: Must be at least 18 years of age. CNA position: Must be at least 18 years of age, completed a state approved 76-hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program, and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry. Knowledge of: principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; Nebraska Medication Aide Act, medication administration, and adverse medication reactions; regulations governing nursing assistants; practices and principles of providing basic nursing assistance; infection control practices; HIPAA regulations; abuse and neglect identification and prevention; safety principles; privacy and dignity principles. Skill in: providing basic nursing assistance, administering medications; developing positive relationships with others. Ability to: recognize adverse medication reactions and take appropriate action; follow oral and written instructions in exact detail; lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push/pull occasionally up to 75 lbs. on a daily basis; frequently bend at the waist and neck and frequently twist at the waist and walk or stand up to 90% of the shift; interact with members and others in a positive manner and be flexible to meet changing demands of the job; lift, turn and/or repositions members as needed.
