Our reported sales in 2024 were $8.8 billion. Job Description The Quality Manager is a member of the Plant Leadership Team reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The incumbent is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the Quality Team and key initiatives for the Cleveland Films Facility . This role often calls for the derivation and application of new or unique approaches. The Quality Manager will partner with the technical teams to formulate, recommend and direct research and development programs to meet organization needs for the quality improvement and cost reduction of both existing and new products and processes. The incumbent will facilitate the transfer of technologies throughout various areas of the organization, evaluate new products, review and analyze technical literature and stay current on related issues and technical data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead, coach and develop quality team members to achieve peak performance.

Attract, retain and develop high potential talent.

Develop and execute a cross functional plan to deliver site quality objectives (claim rate, claim $, claim responsiveness, Customer satisfaction goals, ISO compliance, etc.)

Update strategy deployment documents weekly

Personally complete lot trace, containment and claim investigation activities

Personally lead claim investigations

Lead calls with internal and external Customers and suppliers

Support product qualification, manage quality training, create and track metrics for overall rejection rate and continuous improvement for all products that are being tolled for internal customers in the Avery Dennison network

Develop and improve the off machine inspection and testing plan, and manage inspections, lab testing and calibrations

Lead site (internal) Corrective Action process

Complete corrective actions for Customers and in response to internal/external audits

Provide on-call quality support; process watching production runs

Complete supplier audits

Enter claims to suppliers, request corrective actions and audit the effectiveness of corrective actions.

Responsible for Internal and external audit follow-up to gain and maintain ISO and FSC compliance.

Become a trained ISO and FSC lead auditor of LGM-NA, and lead 2 audits per year

Actively participate in bi-weekly quality meetings to share best practices

Complete Document Change Requests associated with DIV PR, WI, DOC's.

Maintain site document control and training objectives

Actively support Management of Change and Temporary Operating Deviation processes for sites.

Work with product design teams to ensure new products meet quality expectations.

Instill a quality culture that aggressively identifies and solves quality-related issues.

Lead cross-functional project teams & collaborate with all functions, levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.

Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, policies, processes, and procedures under ISO 9001:2015.

Interact regularly with engineering, manufacturing and commercial functions to establish quality standards for raw material, work in process and finished products and ensure sufficient process capability to consistently meet those standards.

Deliver short-term and-long term results in order to develop and maintain the organization's credibility with the business and create opportunities for the function to add greater value to the business.

Use business trends and customer needs to develop and manage divisional strategy and create a team operating plan with actionable goals to create competitive advantage.

Travel to Customers, supplier, and to support internal audits (10%)

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Qualifications • B.S. in chemical, mechanical, industrial engineering or material sciences required.

• At least 5 years of experience with 3 years in a people leadership role and within a quality or operations function.

• Demonstrated experience managing policies, procedures, process, programs, and practices under ISO 9001 (or a similar quality system) to ensure continuous improvement, conformance and effectiveness of the Quality System. Statistical analysis and problem solving skills (Six Sigma).

• Demonstrated experience with effective Corrective and Preventive Action processes to ensure process improvement and auditing results.

• Able to quickly acclimate to complex organization: build and develop functional relationships, gain knowledge of products, develop analytical and reporting skills, learn multiple computer-based quality, inventory, and internet/ intranet applications.

• Experience with automotive industry certifications preferred.

Additional Information The salary range for this position is $125,425 - $150,700/ year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
