Marketing & Communications Associate - Whalls Group

The Marketing and Communications Associate will work with our Sr. Marketing Consultant to assist in the planning, development, and execution of strategic marketing and communication efforts that support the organization's brand, growth, and engagement objectives. This role assists in the management of multi-channel campaigns, content creation, and ensures consistent and effective messaging both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities • Assists in the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communication strategies across digital and traditional channels. • Execute and manage email marketing campaigns using tools such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp. • Create, edit, and coordinate marketing content for newsletters, websites, social media, and sales collateral. • Create white papers and/or case studies. • Support design needs in-house, including visuals for digital campaigns, until the design role is fully transitioned. • Ensure brand consistency and adherence to visual identity and messaging guidelines. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, production, and leadership to align marketing efforts with business goals. • Analyze campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics and email analytics dashboards and prepare performance reports. • Coordinate communication schedules, content calendars, and deadlines for key initiatives. • Assist in maintaining vendor and media relationships when necessary. • Contribute to internal communication strategies and employee engagement initiatives. • Identify, evaluate, and outsource (when applicable) specific marketing or communication implementations to external vendors or partners to ensure timely and effective achievement of departmental goals.

Role Expectations • Take initiative and ownership of marketing efforts, driving them through completion. • Strong writing and content creation skills across multiple formats (text, photo, video). • Proficiency in engaging audiences across various platforms including social media and print. • Project management experience is a plus; must manage multiple concurrent projects such as recruitment marketing, email campaigns, and website development. • Strategic thinking and resourcefulness; ability to bring fresh ideas and identify when to outsource tasks. • Understanding of branding, perception, and market authority. • Ability to thrive in a startup environment and contribute to building foundational marketing structures.

Skills and Qualifications • 2+ years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or related fields. • Email marketing platforms: Constant Contact, Mailchimp. • Digital analytics tools: Google Analytics, platform-specific analytics (email, social media). • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite). • Strong writing and editing skills across formats and audiences. • Ideally exposed to project management activities, with attention to detail (PMP certification not required). • Familiarity with recruitment marketing principles is a plus. • Experience with A/B testing (optional). • Collaborative team player with the ability to work across departments.
