Overview
Technical Support Associate at Butler Aerospace & Defense. Location: McKinney, TX. Job ID: #71451. Pay Range: $28-$31/hr. This role supports the Operations Repair & Maintenance Team within Optics Manufacturing, ensuring production readiness and uptime across multiple factories (Optical Fabrication, Diamond Point Turning, Optical Coating, and Assembly/Test). This is a highly hands-on, technical position in a fast-paced, high-demand defense manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electronic, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment. Lead or support installation and upgrades of production equipment. Develop and follow preventive maintenance procedures (including Lockout/Tagout). Use multimeters, current probes, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose complex issues. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure factory equipment is safe, reliable, and efficient. Support layout planning, capital equipment procurement, and documentation updates. Participate in call-in and weekend work as required to support critical operations. Follow all OSHA and Raytheon safety protocols. Required Qualifications
Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing/production setting. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience with: automated equipment and control systems; high voltage systems (480V, 208V, 110V, and DC voltages); multimeters, current probes, and diagnostic instruments. Ability to work from schematics, technical drawings, manuals, and verbal instructions. Experience interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams and working with minimal supervision. Must be able to work 2nd shift after training, with flexibility for weekends/call-ins. Comfortable working in a high-voltage, hands-on environment this is not a desk or technician helper role. Associate's Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or related technical field. Benefits
