Project Estimator
Denton, TX
Position Summary:
This position will work closely with the Project Manager to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates for private and public projects. The project estimator will receive quotes and material submittals from vendors and subcontractors.
Functions and Responsibilities:
Read and understand contracts to ensure proper estimates and search for the latest industry technology.
Prepare estimating spreadsheets.
Gather material, subcontractor, and equipment rental quotes to complete each estimate.
Estimate the total cost of each project utilizing quotes from vendors, subcontractors, payroll, and any other required expenses.
Complete any specification and contract documents required in preparation for each bid.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and estimates for municipalities and commercial projects.
Prepare the necessary material take-offs by quantities and type for proper pricing.
Attend meetings with key personnel and maintain effective communication throughout all projects.
Assist the project manager with construction schedules, financial schedules, change orders, pay requests, and other necessary documents.
Fulfill other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the project manager.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
Ability to perform in a team environment with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Be responsible, dependable, punctual, and attentive to quality and details.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in the use of computers
Proficient with Bluebeam
Proficient with Excel
Experience in underground utilities and concrete is required.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
Spanish is a plus.
