ART WORKS FOR CHANGE
Arts and environmental activism: ONE-On-ONE leadership volunteer opportunity
ART WORKS FOR CHANGE, Oakland, California, United States, 94616
Art Works for Change is a nonprofit organization that creates contemporary art exhibitions and storytelling projects to address critical social and environmental issues.
We recently launched a new storytelling project that will help people visualize the impact of global warming and the pathways to solving the climate crisis. As part of this project, we have created a one-on-one volunteer opportunity for high school and college students focused on environmental leadership. Our volunteers will learn about climate policies, advocacy techniques, and the role of storytelling in promoting engagement. In addition to learning about climate activism, volunteers will help develop creative storytelling experiences to spur action on climate change. These experiences may include climate-themed games, interactive stories, music compositions, poetry, and similar forms of creative expression, which we will roll out in partnership with grassroots environmental organizations.
Your role would be to participate in this virtual one-on-one volunteer opportunity and to develop creative approaches to activating your local community. This program is designed for high school and college students. Plus, you will get to join a fun, passionate team, working for an important cause--and build your own skills and network in the process. Remote volunteers are happily accepted. Please tell us something about yourself in your application.
