Leidos is seeking a dynamic Corporate Development Director to join our corporate finance team. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and play a crucial part in advancing Leidos' inorganic growth across our global businesses. Your responsibilities will include leading mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic equity investments, as well as providing leadership in due diligence, financial modeling, and negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance a strategic pipeline for M&A and investment opportunities.
Assess potential mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and venture investments to ensure alignment with overall organizational strategy.
Collaborate with senior executives to proactively identify and leverage strategic growth opportunities.
Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of market trends and strategies.
Lead teams through due diligence processes and formulate robust business cases.
Create financial models, including discounted cash flow analyses, to inform decision-making.
Assist business units in identifying and assessing target opportunities.
Foster strong relations with the investment banking community to stay abreast of market developments.
Oversee negotiations and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, and minority investments.
Facilitate the integration process of acquisitions and manage transitions for divestitures.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 13+ years of relevant experience.
At least 5 years of experience leading Mergers & Acquisitions transactions in a public company, investment bank, or private equity firm.
Extensive experience managing complex due diligence processes, from framing objectives to reporting findings to senior leadership.
Deep expertise in finance and accounting, with the ability to collaborate with forensic accountants as needed.
Demonstrated experience in leading both buy-side and sell-side transactions, preferably within the government services or defense systems sectors.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and navigate ambiguity and new challenges effectively.
Proven ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization, from entry-level employees to executive leadership.
Exceptional executive-level communication and negotiation skills.
U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain security clearance as necessary.
