The
Senior Manager, NERC CIP Compliance
manages the RWE Clean Energy (RWECE) Internal Compliance Program that is established to maintain compliance with mandatory NERC CIP Standards and applicable ISO and RTO requirements for wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with mimimal supervision; lead, manage, and coach the CIP team, track program performance, make risk-based decisions for all issues related to their discipline(s) with limited and/or available information; and continue understanding of the applicable Standards and Requirements and other relevant subject matter areas.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage the NERC CIP Compliance Program with the collaboration of compliance staff
Responsible for hiring, developing, training, and performance management of the compliance staff
Continued development and implementation of the NERC CIP Compliance Program
Ensure that all elements of the CIP Compliance Program are completed on schedule
Coordinate spot checks to applicable departments within the company
Take effective action to assure compliance with NERC CIP Alerts and Advisories
Manage NERC CIP related requests for information from FERC, NERC, and others as required
Track and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance is maintained
Lead the regulatory NERC CIP audits, and any subsequent mitigation and reporting from the audit findings
Remain current on emerging NERC CIP requirements and emerging cyber security risks
Active participation in all electric sector critical infrastructure committees (such as ERCOT Critical Infrastructure Working Group (CIPWG) and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee (CIPC) and active monitoring of information sharing resources (such as Electricity sector Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ES-ISAC), Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT), and others)
Job Requirements and Experiences:
Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited school is required. Information Technology or similar degree is preferred
CISSP or similar industry certification is preferred
Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. Government security clearance is a must
Minimum 10 years of experience in technical or regulatory environment applicable to cyber security for power generation or transmission systems
Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role
In-depth knowledge of the NERC CIP standards is essential
Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory process and requirements, to ensure compliant operation
Strong project and/or program management skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage stakeholder, industry peer, and regulator relationships
Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams, and SharePoint
Proficiency with NERC portals such as Align, NERC Alerts, and CORES
Strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organization skills and ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables across departmental and stakeholder personnel
Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, evaluating, adapting of complex techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
