The Grosse Pointe Public School System's Robotics Club - "GP Gearheads" - is searching for a Coordinator beginning with the 2025-2026.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a physical science, a field of mathematics, or a field of engineering. Experience with the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team Dashboard. Experience in design, fabrication, and controls of robotics systems at the FRC level, and ability to coordinate adult mentors to help students learn and excell at these activities. Ability to teach students basic mechanics, electronics, and power transfer as it relates to robotics. Ability to coordinate the activities of adult mentors to help students achieve their goals at the Gearheads. Ability and willingness to work 25+ hours/week during the FRC regular season (January through April) and 10+ hours/week during the off-season (May through December) in the following activities: Open the shop and supervise students in the robotics shop at GPN; Coordinate team travel to and from competitions, community out-reach activities, and other team functions; Supervise and chaperone students at regular season and off-season FRC competitions, community out-reach events, and other team activities; Perform required administrative functions for an FRC team; Coordinate mentors working with students in technical and non-technical functions to help students learn, and achieve their personal goals; Instruct students in your area of expertise so that they successfully apply what they learn in class to more real-world problems not available in the standard secondary school curriculum; Unify students and mentors into a team, and coordinate activities to define and achieve team goals.
Salary in accordance with the GPEA/MEA, EPED Salary Schedule for Club Class V - $4,925.
