Direct-Hire Position with Competitive Hourly Pay. Home Daily with a Typical Work Week of 45-50 Hours. Full Benefits Available after 60-Day Probation. Work Schedule Options: Sunday-Friday, off Saturday and Tuesday, starting at 9 am. Monday-Saturday, off Sunday and Wednesday, starting at 7 am. Sunday-Friday, off Saturday and one other weekday, starting between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. As a Yard Jockey, you will: Make 25-35 moves per day with straight trucks and tractor-trailers. Perform a significant amount of walking in outdoor conditions. Need flexibility with your work schedule to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Check and report mechanical issues as well as fuel and reefer units. Back vehicles in and out of docks safely. Conduct maintenance checks and report further repair needs. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from Illinois. Hold a current DOT Medical Card and pass a pre-employment drug and background check. Have a minimum of 6 months of spotting experience and be proficient in operating manual transmissions. Physical capability to lift, push, and pull up to 65 pounds without assistance. Ability to work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty, etc.).
