The Resident Engineer will create and review design solutions for procurements for the Sodium Cover Gas Team as well as the Fuel Handling Team, supporting the Natrium Reactor. Candidates must have extensive experience in system and equipment design and qualification. Experience in system and equipment operation, maintenance, and fabrication is also valued.

This role will report to the Sodium Cover Gas Manager and will join the Natrium Sodium Cover Gas Team, and will also work very closely with the Fuel Handling Manager and Team. Additionally, this role works with the Contract Administrator and the client's Procurement Team for contract management and technical integration.

This role will work as part of a high functioning team of engineers and scientists focused on developing the design of next generation advanced nuclear reactors and associated equipment.

Responsibilities:

Oversight of supplier design and delivery of fuel handling and cover gas equipment from requirements through final design and delivery of equipment to site. Support design, fabrication, construction, and testing of systems and equipment. Coordinate and oversee design and fabrication work by suppliers, including regular on-site support at James Fisher Technologies in Loveland, CO. Identify and ensure effective application of design codes such as ASME, ANS, ASTM, ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, and regulatory requirements. Participate in design reviews. Propose and define testing programs. Provide support and oversight during test execution, evaluation of test results, and reporting of test results. Act in Project Management capacity for supplier performance management and oversight Apply classic project management tools to oversee suppliers including cost, schedule, submittal oversight, and resources Coordinate Supplier deliverables and ensure thorough and timely review, both individually and through delegation Manage submittal process between Supplier and the client's Provide support to contract administration and commercial activities as needed Generate and maintain Statements of Work Execute project planning to meet program objectives Key Qualifications:

Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Other engineering disciplines may be considered if the candidate has relevant experience. M.S. and A minimum of five years of mechanical design experience PMP certification preferred or equivalent training Manufacturing oversight experience Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, piping systems, and other similar manufacturing processes Experience defining supplier work scope to include development of SOWs, RFPs and providing direction and oversight of supplier projects required. Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills. A successful candidate must possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork. The ideal candidate will possess nuclear industry experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program. Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III or Section VIII a plus. Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.
