This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.
This position is posted as Part-Time International Student Specialist, which is a working title. The NAU system title for this position is Part-Time Temporary.
This position requires availability during open office hours 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, four hours daily.

This position provides administrative support and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) compliance services within International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). The role ensures timely and accurate processing of international student records, maintains compliance with federal regulations, and contributes to student success by supporting programs, communications, and special projects. Responsibilities Include
80% - Administrative Support & SEVIS Compliance Provide information to international students about ISSS programs, services, and resources. Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), supporting initial I-20 issuance and basic case processing. Track, review, and follow up on international student inquiries submitted through iNAU. Process Social Security support letters, invitation letters, and other student-related documentation. Access and update student information in NAU PeopleSoft and Sunapsis systems. Manage receipt, scanning, filing, and check-out of important documents with accuracy and reliability. Maintain document filing systems, electronic student records, and archives. Provide guidance and training to student employees regarding scheduling, workflow, workload prioritization, deadlines, and quality review. 10% - Programming & Communications
Schedule, prepare, and support presentations for orientation, ISSS workshops, and special events. Create marketing materials such as flyers, posters, newsletters, and digital content. Support scheduling and development of social media content. Assist with co-advising student organizations, such as International Club, iFriends, and exchange student cohorts. 10% - Special Projects & Additional Responsibilities
Contribute to special projects with ISSS staff (e.g., information packets, outreach materials, filing). Complete NAU mandatory training and adhere to university and federal compliance guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Previous work or volunteer experience. *A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications. Preferred Qualifications
International experience: experience living or studying in another country, or have an interest in learning about other cultures. Administrative support experience: experience working in an administrative role. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in interacting with people from diverse backgrounds who have varying English language abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with a multi-line phone system, Microsoft Outlook email and calendar systems, MS Office suite: Excel, Powerpoint, and Word, Peoplesoft, and Salesforce Proficiency in an additional language other than English a plus. Ability to remain polite and professional, and follow established procedures and policie. Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional attitude in a fast-paced, ever-changing office. Ability to organize and facilitate educational, cultural, and social events that enhance international students' transition to NAU campus and Flagstaff Community. Compensation
Hourly Rate is $17.85. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience. Pre-Employment Check

In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
