Job Description Job Title: Perioperative Circulator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Adult Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute operating room environment. License: Current RN License issued by the state nursing board, or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification from an accredited organization. Must-Have: Level I Trauma experience (recent preferred).

Description: The Perioperative Circulator is a Registered Nurse who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised during operative or other invasive procedures. Using clinical knowledge, judgment, and clinical-reasoning skills based on scientific principles, the perioperative nurse plans and implements nursing care to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient undergoing an operative or other invasive procedure. The Perioperative Circulator will be responsible for the direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care to patients in the operating room. The nurse will be accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative environment utilizing the nursing process. The Perioperative Circulator individualizes patient care according to the patient's health status, age level, and surgery/procedure being performed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Excellent understanding of relevant standards. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized care. Some computer skills are required.

Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A

Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from an accredited program.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure: Certification in Nursing Operating Room.
