The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive reproductive health services, including
prenatal care, gynecologic care, contraception management, and preventive services , with the additional ability to
perform colposcopies
and other advanced gynecologic procedures.
This role is ideal for a CNM passionate about
patient-centered care , health equity, and working with a
diverse, underserved population .
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, patient-focused midwifery care, including:
Prenatal, postpartum, and family planning services Well-woman exams and preventive screenings Contraceptive counseling and procedures Menopause and perimenopause management
Perform colposcopies and related procedures , including:
Interpretation of abnormal Pap results Cervical biopsies, endocervical curettage, and related diagnostics Appropriate follow-up and treatment planning
Diagnose and manage common gynecologic and reproductive health conditions. Collaborate with supervising physicians on complex cases when necessary. Provide care in an
outpatient, clinic-based setting
focused on
preventive health
and
early intervention . Coordinate referrals to specialty care when needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to women's health services. Work closely with OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and support staff. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and care coordination meetings. Act as a resource and mentor to clinical staff on reproductive health best practices. Educate patients on preventive care, reproductive health, and treatment options. Empower patients to make informed decisions regarding their health. Promote health equity and culturally competent care in alignment with the clinic's mission. Will be required to work some evenings. Position Requirements:
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Midwifery program. Current Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California. DEA registration and current BLS/ACLS certifications. Basic obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound skills required Colposcopy training and certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start date). Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife preferred; new graduates with strong colposcopy training are welcome to apply. Experience providing care in ambulatory, community health, or FQHC settings preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse and underserved populations. Proficiency in performing colposcopies and interpreting results. Strong diagnostic and procedural skills. Excellent patient communication and counseling abilities. Commitment to culturally competent, trauma-informed care. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
