Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of

Farm/Production Maintenance Technician for our Timberview Farm in Neosho, MO . This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations including safety, bio-security and animal welfare requirements. This position will work in the pullet houses and must be comfortable working in a farm/live animal environment. This position will also assist the Production Manager with other projects and duties as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

Keep equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment such as electric motors, pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems.

Perform preventive and urgent maintenance of production machinery and equipment

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:

Fast paced work environment

Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis

Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb

Work in a general farm environment around live animals

Requirements:

(knowledge, experience, skills, education)

Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Previous experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipment

Organized and detail oriented

Willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessary

Qualifications:

3 years of experience in maintenance related roles
