Responsibilities
Install, move, and modify network infrastructure and related equipment, according to service ticket specifications or customer needs. Inspect, test, and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal performance and resolve issues promptly. Maintain and report accurate records of hours and materials used. Recommend and implement upgrades to keep communication systems current with technological advancements. Perform low voltage wiring installs in structures during construction phase and in existing structures to N.E.C. standards without supervision. Manage and advise on low voltage wiring install projects. Advise on surveillance and door badge system installs and solutions. Terminate various low voltage wiring along with fiber fusion splicing. Create and maintain fiber optic network diagrams for all Fond du Lac building connectivity. Review, audit, and manage third party low voltage installs to verify they meet N.E.C standards. Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems. Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers. Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community. Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary. Qualifications
Valid Driver's License issued in the US is required. Eligibility determined by FDL insurance company. Minnesota Power Limited Certification required. 2+ years' experience in managing low voltage install projects is required. 5+ years experience with low voltage wiring or comparable verifiable training experience required. Demonstrate a basic understanding of network infrastructure and best practices are required. Knowledge and proven experience with low voltage testing equipment required. Interpreting technical drawings and construction blueprints to plan wiring layouts and install systems according to N.E.C standards and local code are required. The ability to produce accurate and complete diagrams and documentation of work performed is required. Skilled in diagnosing and resolving issues in low-voltage systems efficiently is required. Working knowledge and experience with surveillance and door badge systems is preferred. The ability to utilize a fusion splicer is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively orally and digitally is required. The ability to work independently and establish priorities is required. Attention to detail and accuracy is required. Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved. Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation's Personnel Policies. Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks. Travel is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling are required. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds is required. Manual dexterity is required. Willingness to be available to work occasional weekends, holidays, and night shifts if the project or service request requires it. Subject to indoor/outdoor, construction, enclosed, cramped, and other adverse environmental conditions, including work in a smoking environment is required.
