Children's Literacy Network
Children's Literacy Network's Read With Kids will be returning for its third year this fall! We are excited for the opportunity to share the discovery of books and reading with even more children and schools! We are in need of volunteers to help bring the Read With Kids program to life for Kindergarten and First Grade students during the 2025-2026 school year.
While current schedules are still being planned, volunteer opportunities will be Monday-Friday in local Ypsilanti Early Learning Centers
Please continue reading for more information about the volunteering experience with Read With Kids.
Volunteers for Read With Kids serve as a reading mentor for elementary students in the Ypsilanti community. They work with small groups of 1-2 Kindergarten or First Grade students in 30 minute sessions to introduce them to books, share in a positive reading experience, and engage in fun reading activities.
Read With Kids is an in-person program, working directly in the school the children attend 1-2 times per week!
We are currently looking for volunteers who enjoy working with children and have a love of reading!
Volunteers are required to sign up for at least one of these session days, but may choose more if desired.
On-site training will be provided for all volunteers.
