Overview
Were seeking a field-focused Quality Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join Kerndell to support our clients land-based drilling operations in the Bakken. The SME will assist in the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tubing/rod inspections, Tubing Anchor Catcher (TAC) and desander rebuilds, and will perform on-site quality inspections, audits, and rebuild verifications. The SME will regularly travel to active rig and vendor sites, providing third-party inspection (TPI) services, generating inspection and audit reports, and ensuring inspection/rebuild processes align with ISO 9001:2015, API Q1/Q2, DS-1, client-specific requirements, and best industry practices (as applicable). Key Responsibilities
Draft, refine, and maintain SOPs for tubing/rod inspections, TAC rebuilds, and desander rebuilds. Conduct on-site inspections and audits of completions equipment and rebuild processes. Act as a third-party inspector (TPI) representing client quality interests at rig and vendor sites. Generate audit and inspection reports. Ensure procedures are field-usable (fit for purpose), technically accurate, and aligned with Client/API/DS-1 standards. Collaborate with field crews, vendors, and client representatives to drive adherence to SOPs, inspection practices, acceptance criteria, and best industry practices. Requirements
Proficiency with ISO 9001:2015, API Q1/Q2, and DS-1. Hands-on experience with tubing/rod inspections, TAC rebuilds, and desander rebuilds. Strong field inspection background, with previous auditor/TPI experience in land-based oilfield operations. Ability to draft field-ready SOPs and write clear audit reports. Excellent written communication skills for audit reporting. Willingness and ability to travel to Bakken field locations on a regular basis. Location: Williston, ND.
