ROD PAINTER LABOR GRADE II/DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT/$20/HR

West Tulsa Manufacturing Shop Seeking Rod Painters
Duties
Operates painting and auxiliary equipment, ensuring consistent and high-quality application. Tests, mixes, and prepares paint to required specifications. Keeps paint pots supplied with the correct paint type and quality. Starts up and shuts down equipment as required. Monitors rods on conveyors, removing crooked or defective rods. Sorts and packages rods by size and grade. Applies identification paint to protectors for product tracking. Responsible for quality and quantity of output, while occasionally assisting and coordinating the work of 2-3 helpers. Maintains clean and orderly work area and equipment. Informs supervisor of any malfunctions or issues with materials, equipment, or production. Skills & Knowledge
High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and follow written/verbal instructions. Minimum of three months related experience or equivalent on-the-job training. Responsibilities
Workmanship: Performs mostly unskilled to semi-skilled duties, making limited, minor decisions subject to review. Work performed under minimal supervision, with guidance readily available. Materials/Products: Exercises ordinary care to prevent damage to finished rods. Equipment: Requires periodic close attention to prevent equipment or process damage. Safety: Must exercise care during equipment operation to prevent injury to self and others, particularly due to occasional fire hazards in the paint area. Effort
Continuous standing and walking on even surfaces. Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, and use of power banding tools. Occasional climbing on conveyors to free rods, twisting, overhead reaching, and handling paint/thinner drums. Requires lifting/carrying up to 55 lbs occasionally, 40 lbs frequently, and 33 lbs constantly. Working Conditions
Heated, ventilated shop environment with occasional exposure to disagreeable elements (paint fumes, dust, noise). Work may involve occasional minor accidents and exposure to chemicals such as paint and thinner. Required PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
