JOB SUMMARY
The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing assembly, installation, and inspection tasks according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. This role involves completing manual and automated assembly operations, rework, functional testing, documentation of discrepancies, and supporting continuous production flow. Technicians will also cross-train in inspection, become SIA qualified, and perform minor machine maintenance as part of Total Preventative Maintenance duties. Training and certification will be provided as required.
Key Responsibilities Assemble and install parts and assemblies to meet quality requirements using blueprints, specifications, and work orders. Complete required data transactions to facilitate assembly progression. Setup and perform manual and automated assembly operations, including portable machine functions. Conduct rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing, and checks during or after assembly. Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies as needed. Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. Identify, report, and investigate job-related issues such as errors in parts, tools, or assembly procedures. Perform routine minor machine maintenance, including filter replacement, light bulb changes, and lubrication/coolant level checks. Move products within the manufacturing area and complete necessary system transactions. Support continuous production flow by training, coaching, and assisting other employees. Document discrepancies according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Cross-train in inspection functions and achieve SIA qualification. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Must be available to start on 10/6 (pending contingencies). Ability to work any assigned shift, including overtime and weekends as needed. Must be able to stand and work for an entire 8-hour shift. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with general assembly technician skills, including: Drilling Sealing Inserting fasteners Varnishing Painting Countersinking Sealer application Assembly and sub-assembly Structures installation
